We live in a society where the nuclear family is the norm, making any other possible family constellation an exception. Still, in Sweden about 25 percent of all families with children are not a nuclear one. Many single-parent families face everyday financial difficulties. This affects the family’s wellbeing in general, creates stress and conflicts between parents. School, daycare, Christmas and other family holidays, vacations and everyday situations call for two parents. That easily makes you feel left out as a single parent. The feeling of being isolated and all alone becomes very tangible.

Remarkable Parents wants to:

  • Pursue financial-, social- and legal issues important to single parents and their children.
  • Help people in other organizations, professions and in society in general become more aware of the situation of single parents and single parent families.
  • Influence public opinion in newspapers, Radio and TV.
Create opportunities for self-help such as family networks, talk groups and camps for children and adults.
  • Our aim is to have a newsletter to inform regularly about us as a local, national as well as an international organization.

It will also include summaries on current debates, interesting seminars and other material on relevant issues. Let us know if you have something that might be of interest!
